The Qstarz BL-818GT is the next generation in portable satellite-based position tracking for motorsports.
The BL-818GT features a new and improved GNSS chipset that supports both GPS and GLONASS constellations for improved accuracy in all environments. It also features a built-in, 3-axis accelerometer which supports measurements of up to 3G.
Compatibility
The BL-818GT uses a Bluetooth 4.0 LE connection in order to maximize battery life and to provide compatibility with iOS devices.
Please note: Not all Android devices are compatible with the BL-818GT due to the use of Bluetooth LE (Low Energy). Older and low-end Android devices do not seem to be able to sustain the BLE data rate that is required by the BL-818GT.
The BL-818GT will NOT function correctly with Amazon Kindle Fire tablets.

The BL-818GT has been tested with the following devices by Petrel Data Systems or Qstarz International:
- Apple 12 pro, 11, 10, XR, SE
- LG G8
- Samsung S10+, Note9, S20, A42, Tab A (SM-T380)
- Sony Z5P, XZP
Modern Samsung or other recent flagship devices seem to offer a sufficient BLE data rate to support the BL-818GT.

GNSS GPS + GLONASS Constellations
The BL-818GT makes use of multiple satellite constellations in order to provide improved accuracy over single-constellation systems. It also supports the Japanese QZSS constellation for improved accuracy in the Asia region.

Battery Replacement
The Qstarz 818GT uses a standard Nokia BL-5C type 3.7V battery. They are easy to find online if you need a replacement.
