This page is written with the goal of setting up the bare basics of a non-RaceCapture set up to get you logging driving data quickly.

Overview:

  1. Calibrate your Accelerometer – this is necessary to record G readings (skip if you have a QStarz-818GT)
  2. Connect your Bluetooth GPS – necessary to record your location information to trace runs/laps
  3. Connect your Bluetooth OBDII – necessary to log detailed car telemetry

Camera connectivity is not considered essential to the setup, please refer to the Camera/Video sections for assistance.

1. Calibrate your Accelerometer

NOTE: you will need to drive your vehicle to perform this calibration, you can simulate this manually but there will be some deviation to the recorded data

    1. Mount your phone/tablet in the position you will record your data from
    2. Tap Main Menu
    3. Tap Calibrate Accelerometer
    4. Follow the prompts, to drive your vehicle forward a short distance, then come to a complete stop
    5. You will receive a confirmation message that the accelerometer is now calibrated.
    6. Done!
